Having left their injured charge in capable hands, and on the advice of a reputable merchant, the Outriders seek out a mystery Shopkeeper who may be able to lend some insight on Glimmer's mysterious jug. But first to pick up their allowance for the coming gala! Elaine tries to keep the group on track. Danilo finds himself and the rest of the party in a shady part of town. Glimmer has a run in with some thieves with...disastruos results. Chesell finds his charity extends beyond giving money and into the divine...

The Outriders return to Cadam and have to figure out what to do with their injured charge. Glimmer is puzzled by Dan. Chesell makes friends with some new kids. Elaine has a bone to pick, like always. Dan just tries to do the right thing. And the whole group gets a message from Ryet that adds to their to-do list!

Fleeing into the trees, the Outriders hope to take the spear they stole to Gudrik and stay alive in the process. Glimmer learns that their foe is vulnerable to fire. Elaine makes, and takes, some heavy hits against the spectral horde. Dan holds his own while trying to learn more about their new foes. Chesell sees something familiar in the ghostly shapes of the horde. And the whole party tries their best to hold out against overwhelming odds.

Planning for the inevitable arrival of the mysterious Riders, the party prepares their battleground and escape route. Danilo finds himself relegated to the background. Chesell learns what it means to face real danger. Elaine gets herself caught between protecting her allies and sticking to the plan. Glimmer puts himself directly in the path of danger and remembers why he hates doing that. And the whole party faces odds they never expected as they try to steal a simple spear.

The group comes upon a traveling performing troupe, and, well, since they're already professionals at caravan guarding, they join the troupe. Lets hope they manage to actually get their employers to the end of the intended journey this time..
